It should be flush as shown in photo (yellow arrow). Install the lower radiator hose - the retaining clip is properly seated when an audible click is heard. Connect the radiator outlet temperature sensor electrical connector. Install the expansion tank. See our Pelican Parts Technical Article on Replacing Your Coolant Expansion Tank. Hi I have had exactly the same problem the other day. I was out driving and noticed the coolant was overheating so I quickly turned on the heaters to max only to find no heat was coming out. I also had a smoky radiator and the coolant is leaking from somewhere. I dont know what the problem is but did you ever find out what the problem was? Joe

Low Coolant May Not Always Indicate a Leak in Your Radiator Autobytel.com
Another coolant component that sometimes needs attention is the coolant overflow reservoir. The coolant overflow reservoir does more than catch the overflow from the radiator. It’s main function is to serve as a storage tank for excess coolant. When the system is hot, coolant will be forced out through the radiator pressure cap and into the reservoir. Then as the system cools down, decreasing pressure will draw coolant back into the radiator. On many newer vehicles, the coolant reservoir is pressurized and is an integral part of the cooling system. The filler cap for the cooling system is located on the reservoir tank, and the tank is connected to the radiator and engine with hoses. The reservoir is transparent plastic and you can see the coolant level inside. If the coolant reservoir is cracked or leaking, the system may lose coolant every time the engine heats up. Eventually, this can cause the engine to overheat.

I found the quality of the Mishimoto radiator to be good and I would rate it a 9/10. It loses points for two reasons. Firstly, some of the fins were bent and a couple near the top were sheared off out of the box. Radiators are delicate but I d expect it to be perfect on arrival. There s

This kit provides all the necessary parts to do a "Fan Delete Mod". E36 owners with belt driven radiator fans typically do this modification to free up a few horsepower lost as parasitic drag, as well as get rid of the plastic fan which is prone to fail and puncture the radiator. Kit includes a thermostat that opens at lower temperature, as well as a fan switch that triggers the auxiliary (AC condenser) fan at a lower temperature to compensate for loss of main cooling fan. Also included is a water pump with a METAL impeller, vs the stock plastic, an aluminum thermostat housing, and a tool to remove the fan clutch. It is recommended to use a coolant additive (see, Water Wetter) to enhance the thermal efficiency of the coolant fluid. Even with these additional measures, this modification is not recommended for cars in extremely hot climates, especially in applications where the car spends a lot of time below 10mph.
If this is not the exact Radiator Fan Delete Kit you are looking for, or you would like this part in a brand other than eEuroparts.com Kit, please call us at (800) 467-9769 and one of our customer service experts will help you locate the exact part you need.

What a great place! I've been going to another auto repair place exclusively for the past 15 years; Pacific Automotive got recommended by a friend. I decided to give them a shot for a repair I needed. They were awesome!! I had an issue with a Check Engine light following the initial repair, and they even offered to COME TO ME to fix it!! It turned out to only be a small hose being loose/cracked, but they fixed the issue for free and gave me a FREE oil change or inconveniencing me! I've never been treated so well by ANY business like they've treated me.
