Bmw X5 2016
- Bmw Cars
Despite what its model designation suggests, the X5 xDrive40e is not fitted with a 4.0-liter engine. The internal-combustion component of the powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is paired with an electric motor. The 111-hp e-motor is integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission; depending on the driving mode, it works on its own or in conjunction with the 241-hp turbo four. Total system output is 309 horsepower. The corded SUV can go up to 19 miles on an electric charge; top speed on electricity alone is 75 mph, although don't expect to get 20 EV miles at that speed.
Bavarian car manufacturer will not bring any major changes, when it comes to new 2016 BMW X5. Main reason is that the current model has undergone redesign. So, segment of SUV will get slightly changed model of X5 vehicle. This is related to basic model, while top equipped model and some of version will bring some of innovation, primarily in interior. There is no exact data about interior trims, but this car manufacturer will not dissapoint.
The X5 xDrive40e gets most of its power (240 hp, 260 lb-ft) from a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the rest comes from an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed transmission powered by a 9-kWh battery. Total system output is rated at 308 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. That's good for a 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. All-electric travel, up to 13 miles of it, is restricted to 75 mph max and preliminary EPA estimates are 55 MPGe.
